Mattie Moss Clark was born on 22 September 1925 in Selma, Alabama, the United States, She is a Daughter of Fred Jhon Moss and Mattie Juliet Walker. Her father was a minister and her mother was as a Christ Prayer in Holiness Temple Church. She was inspired by her mother and become a famous Gospel singer.
She was studying from the Local High School of Selma, later she went to Selma University to learn about classical music and Choral singing. In 1947 Mattie Moss moved to Detroit where she becomes a member of the Greater Love Tabernacle Church. Then she becomes the minister of music under the leadership of Bishop W.Rimson.
Mattie Moss was started her career in Gospel music and Choral singer, she recorded first southwest Michigan state choir, Going to Heaven to Meet the King in 1958. Mattie Moss got three gold albums with the southwest Michigan state choir.
Mattie Moss sing A Rama with Elma Hendricks in 1968 at Reverend. She found one of the most prestigious schools, The Clark Conservatory of Music in Detroit. The Clark Conservatory of Music was established in 1979. She has received an award of the Doctor of Humanities by the Trinity College of Pennsylvania in 1981. Then she becomes the State minister of music for the Southwest Michigan Jurisdiction.
